ATS Braces for Hurricane Sandy

atlantic-city-sandy

Hurricane Sandy is already pounding the New Jersey coastline and the worst is yet to come as landfall is not expected until late tonight.

As Hurricane Sandy barrels toward the New Jersey coast, we at Advanced Telecom Services are in the office today preparing for its impact on our offices just 9 miles west of Philadelphia.  Most of our staff is here today, but it is likely that our offices will be closed on Tuesday.  We are also anticipating power outages, possibly lengthy ones, in our office and in our employee homes.

The good news is that your mobile or IVR services should not feel the impact of Sandy.  Our 84444.com text message marketing website is backed up at a hosting location in Florida and the engineering team has moved it from Philadelphia to this location until the damage from the storm is over.  Moreover, our IVR programs are hosted in Rochester and Los Angeles — areas that should be immune from the wrath of Hurricane Sandy.

Thank you for your patience during this state of emergency.

We will do our best to respond as quickly as possible to your needs.  Should you need anything on Tuesday or any days when the office is closed or out of power, please contact Scott at 267-456-3956 or Bob 610-513-0900.  Also, send an email to sales at advancedtele dot com.

Around the ATS Office: SIGNS OF THE PAST

010-1024x768

During the dot com boom, the company briefly changed its name to AdvancedTele.com from Advanced Telecom Services. Internet products, including our ringtone business, were part of the Advanced Internet company that was sold to Zim Corporation.

A more modern sign than the one used in Taiwan was patterned after hockey arena dasherboards and promoted AdvancedTele.com of the dot come era.

On top of the sign is the sign originally used in the Spark Network Services office in Evanston, Illinois.  Advanced Telecom Services acquired Spark from CBS Radio (then Infinity Broadcasting) in 2005.

Around the ATS Office: TAIWAN

009-1024x768

In 1997, Advanced Telecom Services opened a new office in Taipei, Taiwan.  This was the sign, and the original ATS logo, that was on the door in the Taipei office.

As more and more American businesses began looking to China for expansion, Advanced Telecom Services stood on its doorstep with its office in Taipei, Taiwan that was opened in 1997.  The office was a great success, but was eventually closed when changes to the premium rate services rules made it more difficult to prosper.  Paul Gregson was the original manager of the Taipei office.

Around the ATS Office: AWARDS

008-1024x768

The trophy section of Advanced Telecom Services includes numerous Golden Phone Awards.

In the early days of IVR and 900 numbers, Advanced Telecom Services was the dominant player in the annual awards ceremonies, taking home over 20 such awards during the 1990′s.  These awards can still be found in the cabinet of the trophy area of the company offices.

ATS is quite proud of its history of award winning programs, but is equally proud of its latest trophies that Advanced Mobile won for the Best Auto Dealer App and Best Auto Mobile Website.  Read more about these more recent awards that its Cars2Go product has won here.
